Media Archeology Festival: Texas Focus

Here is the design for the upcoming Media Archeology Festival using the light letters from the previous post.

Media Archeology Festival’s are something that should not be missed. Past Festivals included an amazing performance by Tara Mateik (which was a reenactment of The Battle of the Sexes), Brent Green’s animation at the Orange Show with a live band and one I missed but heard was really something special – a performance of The Joshua Light Show and Silver Apples.

This year’s Festival is comprised of three performances from Graffitti Research Labs Houston, Potter-Belmar Labs and Luke Savisky.

Light Letters

A client request recently included “can we see something with maybe light painting?”. I photographed the alphabet then used the individual letters to put the words together.

All you need is a camera that you can control the shutter speed with, a tripod and a led flashlight.

Water, CA

Website I designed and built for Water, CA is now live. A fantastic project, Water, CA consists of 22 contemporary projects engaging the history, mystery and challenge of California’s Water. Artists Enid Baxter Blader and Nicole Antebi curated (and have projects of their own) on the website. The site features photography, painting, animation, essays and a timeline of the history of California water.

Team Up

The first piece for the new campaign I have been working on for Discovery Green’s Green Team went out today. The Green Team is for individuals (rather than corporations) to donate $50 – $250 to help support the free programming efforts at the Park.

They really do some excellent free shows over there. Two Star Symphony performed a live score to the movie Girl Shy a few months ago that was amazing.
