AFA is a Houston based music education organization who outgrew their last iteration of their website. One of the main goals of the website was to make it easier to navigate than previous versions. That sounds like a simple idea, but AFA offers a number of different programs at different times of the years and serves grades 3-12. Those are a lot of variables, so one of the first tasks was to reorganize the information in a clean and clear way that gets the user to where they need to be.
A custom tool was built for the programs page to make it easier to direct the user in the correct place, with the information was pared down to focus on the three sets of different types users – Students & Families, Community and Supporters.
The website also had to be easy for AFA’s staff to update, and update in single places while information shows up on the site in multiple places. While the design adheres to their brand standards, it took advantage of the large photo library AFA has.
