The Revival of Lee Mackey

Digital video, 30 minutes, 2000

A tragic story.

Utilizing fractured Appalachian storytelling, The Revival of Lee Mackey poetically tells the story of Rhea Jean, who after the violent death her friend Lee, commences on an arson campaign.  This film is an experimental tale of displaced rural anxiety.  The score is original music performed over the phone.

Lee Mackey is in the collection of Orange County Museum of Art. It has also screened at the National Gallery of Art, Smithsonian, Washington, D.C.; Los Angeles Contemporary Exhibitions, Hollywood, CA; Pomona College Museum of Art, Claremont, CA; Cinescape at The Hideout, Austin, TX
